Thursday mornings, 9.15 – 10.30 in the parents room. All are welcome – there are toys and other children to play with if you are caring for a child, so don't let that put you off. The study group will start studying a book by Albert Soesman called The Twelve Senses (also called "Our Twelve Senses").
This book describes each of the twelve senses and in the process also introduces many of the concepts which are important to an Anthroposophical understanding of the human being. The development of the senses in children is an important aspect of Steiner-Waldorf Education and though we will not be looking at the development in children as such, a more general understanding of the senses will hopefully provide a good starting point from which to gain insights into this aspect of the education.
I will try to bring some exercises for developing our senses as adults. I will also bring some ideas on how developing our senses can help us to develop faculties in our souls that can help us deal more constructively with social interactions.
I hope you will be able to join us on some if not all Thursday mornings this term. No previous knowledge of these ideas is needed only the willingness to enter onto a journey of exploration with others. Those of you who are interested in the introductory talk on Anthroposophy that I mentioned last term please watch this space as I hope to announce the date soon.
